I just got my 94 integra gsr tunned and my friend and I decided to test out my car with some of the local muscle cars in Idaho. I met with some people downtown on a friday night. We decide to all meet out in the boony to do some racing. Most local never seen import racing before and was talking lots of smack. That night there was a 93 mustang 5.0 that was talking tons of b/s. He was beating every import and domestic car out there. My friend has a 90crx with a sir motor and lighten flywheel and he lost to him. His car was fast. There were more imports and muscle cars there that night for some reason and I just got there while my friend went head to head with this 5.0. He lost to him by mybe 2 car length. From what I heard the 5.0 has intake, headers, and exhaust, programed ecu witch he claimed 20hp over stock and he also has a nos port into his intake. If he used his nos I don't know but he was kicking ass. I decided to test my waters with the JRSC I just got tunned in CAli. We were at the line and he heated his tires for about half a minute or so and I heated mine up. At the time I was using my stock bald ass tires with little tread left on them. We were at the line and the flager dropped his hands, I released the clutch at 3000rpm and notice I wasn't moving except the wheel were burning rubber. I coudn't get the stock tires to grip. At that time the 5.0 was 1/2 cars ahead of me. I shifted into second and the tires were still burning rubber and this time he was 2 cars ahead. I started catching up to him at 3rd gear and by the end of the race I had passed him by one car length in 4th gear going about 110mph. The track was a little longer than the 1/4 mile but I won and from that point on he would think twice when comes up to an import. The best part was that his friend said "I'm sorry" for talk $hit about imports and he ended up doing push-ups infront of everyone out there.

Hornet: are you the guy that has kept poor Silvino up for days licking his wounds from the brisk drag that you took him on ???
Anyway, good job (beating the Mustang... not Silvino). I hear that your car is particularly strong... or you are "Sandbaggin'" some secret parts... please let us all know your secret !!! Also, how about some dyno figures.

I didn't intend to beat Silvino. I hope there is no hard feelings.
My motor is stock, I just have a jrsc at 6psi. I guess I bought a strong car. I think having the car at near sea level in Cali made my car perform better. I didn't feel that same power up here in Idaho. The local race track won't open till end of spring. So, I need to send my time slips to one of your senior board members to post it on the net for me.
Again, for Silvino, I'm sorry for the match in Pleasanton.

Heheh, I'm not mad Hornet!!!! I was just upset that my car wasn't running right!
We've been working on my car and have found a few problems thanks to the loss to you actually
. I'm still working on a fuel problem but I'm hoping to solve it soon. Modacar is unable to help me with my problem so I have to figure it out myself. Sean saw my 1/4 track times and told me he couldn't do anything. I told him obviously something was wrong with my car but he said it could be so many other factors. Oh well, he's a good guy but he was wrong. My car runs faster now but I'm still hunting for the fuel issue. I can't wait to see your timeslips from the track man! Good luck and I hope you find out why you're running so well dude, that's be a nice thing to share with the group. Maybe the previous owner did install something you don't know about.

Out in Boise? I've driven there occassionally when my girlfriend lived in Meridian, ID. The downtown cruise (hehe) was, uh..uh..ummm, how to describe it - like as exciting as watching the Daytona (Speedvision rules). I had some fun none the less, even smoked a guy and his buddy in a Type-R, loved his buddy's reaction - I don't think he could form words (my car's a 4-door and I took my VTEC patch off, so it was a surprise) I met up with them and a group of other imports later (DSMs & Hondas), just to get the lo-down on Boise. Anywayz... Yeah, loved seeing the wide-spread of imports and the battle vs old detroit iron.
Much love to the imports

All I have to say is there is a Yellow 97 4.6 mustang with a K&N Filter, Cobra Thottle body, some kind af gears (I dont know much about rear end gears), and a Vortec supercharger (found out he was at their stock 8 psi)and God strike me dead, I beat him by about a full car length to 1 & 1/2 car lengths up till I backed off doing about 110, 115
I have 6psi intake header and a fuel pump
best time [email protected]
sucks to be him!!!!!!

GreenHornet, since you are now the hero of this board, a lot of people here would like to get the load down of what mods you have on your car. You mentioned I/H/E and a gutted cat. Can you tell us exactly which one ? Does that mean you're running on the stock clutch, injectors, 15" wheels, cam timing and fuel pump ? What did you tune exactly while you were in California ?

Keep in mind that there was some "funk factor" involved as Hornet mention that when he went back home is car was off steroids. The altitude change was what everyone was blamming the oddity for. It might sound out there but it's the only logical thing he's come up with. His car was in Cali because my lcoal tuner was fixing a problem he had. He's at 7 degrees timing btw.

I can't figure out why my car is so special. I bought this car 2 years ago and the last owner had taken care of the car with only 10000 miles on them. I got a good deal on the car and just started to work on the engine last year. I had the Jrsc installed in the end of summer and plan to take out to the local track for some times and hopefully get it dyno as well. I don't drive the car much only on summer and spring or when I'm not working and it's nice out but my car only have 25000 miles on it now. I change my oil every 3-4 months on synthetic race oil and my car has no problem starting even on cold days. I have a Iceman street intake, DC 4-2-1 headers and Greddy SP exhaust. I know that my cat makes more power gutted so I did that. I have a stock Igition and platinum plugs. My tranny is stock and I plan to upgrade the clucth and flywheel plus get an aftermarket crank pulley for more power. My internals are stock and I haven't touched it. I don't plan to because it works great. Silvino, I was told by JR that the feul pressure was not adjustable and they told me to leave it alone. Do you need to mess with it when upgrading to a 8psi kit?
We all should get together this summer and have an event somewhere!!!!
I hope I answered all your questions.
